Coriander has seen steady growth in European demand over recent years, driven by international cuisine and by the food service channel. Hortiberia lists it within its herbs range as a natural complement to the fresh vegetables it exports from the Region of Murcia and south-eastern Spain, so that a single supplier can cover mixed orders of vegetables and fresh herbs.

Coriander is available twelve months of the year. Continuity comes from the spread of growing areas and plots among the group's producers, which allows sowings to be staggered and harvesting to continue through winter, when other European producing regions are out of season. For the buyer this means a line that can be programmed without gaps and with weekly volume forecasts.
Packing formats, bunch weights and box type are agreed with each customer when the programme is set, according to the destination channel (supermarket shelf, wholesale market or catering distribution). The commercial team supplies the full logistics sheet, with units per box and boxes per pallet, before the first dispatch.
As a leafy herb with a high transpiration rate, coriander needs an unbroken cold chain from field to delivery point. Harvesting is scheduled to shorten the time to cooling and loading, and the transport temperature is agreed with the customer according to vehicle type and journey length.
The group's growers work under GLOBALG.A.P. and IFS and under the equivalent standards demanded by European retail chains. Each consignment is identified by lot and plot, with treatment records and compliance with EU maximum residue limits, and labelling is adapted to the language and requirements of the receiving country.
Hortiberia prefers to handle coriander through supply programmes agreed in advance, although spot orders are also served depending on each week's availability.
The Hortiberia Group brings together the drive and experience of four market leaders from the sector in order to consolidate a project with a great future.
