Aubergines from Hortiberia's growers in south-east Spain cover the three types most in demand across European markets: long, globe and striped. The product is available both as conventional and as EU-certified organic, which lets a buyer source both ranges from a single exporter with the same specification and paperwork.

Shipments run from January to June and from October to December. There is no supply between July and September, so most retail programmes are agreed before the October restart and reviewed at the turn of the year.
Fruit is graded P, M and G (small, medium and large), matching weight bands of 100-300 g, 300-500 g and over 500 g. Smaller fruit is usually directed to unit-priced retail packs, while the larger grade suits food service and processing customers who work by weight.
Aubergines are prone to chilling injury, so the recommended transport temperature is 4-7 °C, held steady from loading to delivery. Each consignment is traceable to lot and plot, and organic product travels identified and physically separated from conventional. The group's growers work under GLOBALG.A.P. and IFS and comply with EU rules on maximum residue levels, plant protection products and labelling, together with the equivalent schemes required by European retail chains.
Hortiberia's commercial team plans the split between types and sizes with each customer over the season and can adjust weekly volumes as demand at destination changes, which is particularly useful for chains running organic and conventional lines side by side.
The Hortiberia Group brings together the drive and experience of four market leaders from the sector in order to consolidate a project with a great future.
