Cherry tomatoes on the vine are sold as the whole truss, with the fruit still attached to the stem. For the buyer this changes several things compared with loose cherry: the shelf presentation is different, the unit of sale is larger and harvesting at origin requires the entire truss to reach an even colour before it is cut. Hortiberia includes it in its tomato range from growers in south-eastern Spain, as conventional and certified organic.

October, November, December, January, February, March, April and May. The same period as the rest of the group's tomato references, which simplifies planning when a customer combines several of them in one order.
Sizes handled are 20 and 35. The reference format is built around the truss:
The 500 g units match the usual selling weight for vine cherry in European retail and save the customer from weighing and splitting trusses at the platform.
Transport at 7-8 °C. The stem is the most sensitive part of the product: dehydration starts there and it is the first thing a buyer notices on opening the box, so stable temperature and tight transit times matter more here than with loose cherry. The group's growers operate under GLOBALG.A.P. and IFS, or under the equivalent standards demanded by retail, with traceability by lot and plot and compliance with EU rules on residues, plant protection products and labelling. The organic line carries EU certification.
Hortiberia schedules vine cherry by week and size, with room to adjust volumes according to how colour develops in the field.
The Hortiberia Group brings together the drive and experience of four market leaders from the sector in order to consolidate a project with a great future.
