The long, smooth, thin-skinned cucumber known in the trade as English or Dutch type is the most widely listed cucumber in northern and central European retail, and Hortiberia supplies it through the winter campaign with production from the group's growers in south-east Spain. In those months Spanish origin fills the gap left by northern European glasshouse production, with straight fruit, uniform colour and good keeping quality.

Supply months are November, December, January, February, March and April. Programmes are usually fixed weekly with agreed volumes and sizes and reviewed continuously through the season.
English cucumber is graded by length into two sizes: E (15 cm) and F (18-25 cm). The unit weight shown on the product sheet is 120 to 160 g. The presentation is:
The line is available as organic and conventional. Organic production is certified under EU regulation and can be programmed in parallel with the conventional crop using the same format and palletisation.
Recommended transport temperature is 4-7 °C. Cucumber is sensitive to chilling below that range, so in mixed loads it should be grouped with products of compatible temperature and kept away from the coldest positions in the trailer. Each consignment leaves identified by lot and plot, complies with EU maximum residue levels and labelling rules, and comes from farms working under GLOBALG.A.P. and IFS or the equivalent standards demanded by the retail trade.
If your platform needs Spanish-origin English cucumber between November and April, Hortiberia's commercial team can set size, volume and loading frequency before the campaign starts and keep the programme under weekly review as the crop develops.
The Hortiberia Group brings together the drive and experience of four market leaders from the sector in order to consolidate a project with a great future.
