Twelve heads per box, a 60 x 40 cardboard box and two pallet options: lollo rosso is packed at Hortiberia to the standard shared by its leaf lettuces, so the buyer can treat it as one more line within the same load. Its frilled leaf with a dark red edge makes it the usual coloured lettuce on the European leaf fixture, and the group's growers produce it in EU-certified organic and in conventional throughout the year.

Lollo rosso is supplied in size 12, in a 60 x 40 cardboard box with each head bagged. Depending on box height, palletisation is 52 boxes per Euro pallet and 65 per 100 x 120 pallet, or 60 boxes per Euro pallet and 75 per 100 x 120 pallet. The second build is the usual one for full loads; the first is used when the customer asks for a taller box to protect larger heads.
Available January to December. Continuity comes from moving cultivation between zones of the Region of Murcia and south-east Spain as the season changes, which lets the buyer keep lollo rosso on an annual programme from a single origin.
The organic line carries EU certification and separate labelling. It shares packaging and transport with the conventional line, so both can ship on the same pallet when an order requires it.
Transport temperature of 1-4 °C, with the cold chain maintained from the packhouse. Lot and farm traceability, growers working under standards such as GLOBALG.A.P. and IFS, and compliance with EU rules on residues, plant protection products and labelling.
Grupo Hortiberia, based in Cartagena since 2001 and formed by four grower-exporter companies, programmes lollo rosso weekly with each customer together with the rest of the group's leaf lettuces.
The Hortiberia Group brings together the drive and experience of four market leaders from the sector in order to consolidate a project with a great future.
