Multi-leaf Trocadero Red

Organic and conventional

Multi-leaf Trocadero Red is the red-leaf option within the lettuce range that Hortiberia markets on behalf of its grower members. Buyers in the prepared-salad industry and in organised food service use it to add colour to leaf mixes and plated salads, and it shares box, temperature and handling with the green Trocadero, so the two can travel together on one pallet.

Full product sheet

Available all year

The declared availability runs from January to December. For a buying office that contracts leaf on an annual basis, that means one supplier, one specification and a steady weekly volume with no seasonal gap to bridge. Programmes are usually set by calendar week and adjusted as demand moves.

Size, packing and palletisation

The lettuce is packed at count 12 per box. Declared formats are a 60x40 cardboard box and a bag presentation, with two palletisation options: 52 boxes per Euro pallet and 65 per 100×120 pallet, or 60 boxes per Euro pallet and 75 per 100×120 pallet. The taller configuration lowers freight cost per box; the lower one suits customers whose receiving docks or racking set a height limit. Either way, the choice should be fixed on the order so that dispatch leaves ready for unloading.

Organic and conventional, with a controlled cold chain

Multi-leaf Trocadero Red is available as certified organic under EU rules and as conventional, from the same growers and on the same calendar, which allows a retailer to run both lines from a single origin. Transport temperature is 1-4 °C, maintained from the packhouse to delivery. The group's producers work under standards such as GLOBALG.A.P. and IFS, together with the equivalent schemes required by European retail, with traceability by lot and field and full compliance with EU rules on maximum residue levels, plant-protection products and labelling.

To set up a programme, a buyer needs to specify count, pack format, pallet height and production line, organic or conventional; Hortiberia's commercial team builds the weekly plan from there.

The Hortiberia Group brings together the drive and experience of four market leaders from the sector in order to consolidate a project with a great future.
