Where red oakleaf provides the contrast, green oakleaf provides the volume: it is the lobed, soft-leaved lettuce that European retailers use as the base of the mixed leaf display and that processors use in prepared salads. Hortiberia packs it in the same pallet build as the red, in sizes 10 and 12, in EU-certified organic and in conventional, so the two can share a load.

Available from January to December. The group's member growers, with farms in the Region of Murcia and nearby areas of south-east Spain, move cultivation between zones as the season changes, so the line does not drop off the weekly programme in any month, including the summer period when demand for leaf lettuce in northern Europe is at its highest.
The organic line carries EU certification and separate labelling. For a buyer handling both ranges, this means one programme and one set of lot documentation for the two.
Hortiberia's growers work under standards such as GLOBALG.A.P. and IFS, with lot and farm traceability on every consignment. The product meets EU requirements on maximum residue levels, plant protection products and labelling, which also apply in markets with EU agreements such as the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Norway.
Grupo Hortiberia, based in Cartagena and created in 2001 by four grower-exporter companies, works with the buyer on the proportion between sizes and between organic and conventional according to the channel the green oakleaf is destined for.
The Hortiberia Group brings together the drive and experience of four market leaders from the sector in order to consolidate a project with a great future.
