Green apples sit alongside pears as the pome fruit lines in Hortiberia's export catalogue. Grupo Hortiberia, based in Cartagena (Murcia) and founded in 2001, markets the output of its four member companies to buyers in more than 40 countries, and green apples are programmed as a spring and early-summer line for retail and wholesale customers who need consistent sizing and a choice of pack formats.

The season runs from March to July. Over those five months supply can be scheduled week by week, and volumes and formats are best agreed before the start of the campaign to secure continuity through the May and June peak.
Working sizes are 65/70, 70/75 and 75/80, expressed in millimetres of diameter, so each market can match the grade to its price segment. Fruit travels in cardboard boxes in the following formats:
The recommended transport temperature is 1-3 °C, held from dispatch to delivery. The group's growers work under GLOBALG.A.P. and IFS, together with the equivalent standards demanded by European retailers, with lot and farm traceability and full compliance with EU rules on maximum residue levels, plant protection products and labelling. Every consignment leaves with documentation that lets the importer cross-check lot, origin and packing date at goods-in, which shortens reception checks at the destination platform.
Buyers planning green apples for March to July can agree sizes, format and palletisation with Hortiberia's sales team before the campaign opens.
The Hortiberia Group brings together the drive and experience of four market leaders from the sector in order to consolidate a project with a great future.
